Marie Lukomski Art

My art is an extension of myself and my surroundings. I want to exemplify and illustrate the complexities of being a woman in my artwork; showing not only the beautiful and joyous side of the feminine, but also the darker, deeper side as well. My preferred medium is oil, however, I’m never adverse to mixing various media to find a way to truly represent my expressions. My latest two series do just this; In my Sculptural Painting series, I’ve mixed media and sculpture on canvas to have the ability to add much more dimension to my artwork, and in my Portraits of the Forgotten series, I’ve mixed media, acrylic, antique photographs, and antique newsprint to give a possible view into the lives of those who came before us.
