The Mercantile, A New 25,000 Square Foot Artisan Space is Opening in Doylestown Borough

Doylestown PA, Brooke Henningsen and The Robbins Companies, announce the Grand Opening of the Mercantile on November 7th, 2020. There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Bucks Chamber of Commerce at 9:45 am, followed by the official opening at 10:00 am. The Mercantile will have an all-day schedule of events and will remail open till 7pm.

Mercantile was the vision of Brooke Henningsen, a Founding Partner at Arrow Real Estate Services and an avid art enthusiast. “I saw a need for artist support in our community. We had available retail space in the Doylestown Shopping Center that I lease, and I was aware of so many cancelled opportunities for artists to show and sell their work, it was the perfect combination. The Robbins Companies was on board to support my vision and the Mercantile was born.” Brooke went out into the community to speak to Bucks County artists she had met and found overwhelming support and interest in the concept. One of the artists she spoke to was Ashara Shapiro, of ARecerche who joined the Mercantile as Creative Director. The Mercantile currently has almost 100 artisans and small businesses in place for opening, as well as designated spaces to enhance the overall experience for its clients. There will be artist demonstrations, a makers area where workshops will happen, A Taste of Doylestown that will feature local restaurateurs and the focal point, Triple Sun Spirits which is a small batch distillery, who will run the bar. Ken Heitz has joined the team as Store Manager, who has a long-standing history of retail in Doylestown. “This concept of an artist collective is exactly what Bucks County needs to help everyone get through this difficult time. My wishes of a space for the betterment of the community are becoming a reality and I am looking forward to sharing it with everyone,” said Brooke Henningsen.

The Mercantile is located at 444 North Main Street and will be open Monday through Saturday 10-7 and Sunday 11-5. For more information, visit mercantiledoylestown.com or call 484-499-4248.
