Now that the holiday rush has diminished we wanted to share this fantastic article that John Lund and Susan Smith with DoylestownBorobuzz wrote about us for the Doylestown Cardinal. We are so appreciative of the support from them and the community. We look forward to sharing 2022 with all of you!
New in 2021, is Pine2Pink’s takeover of the Doylestown Town Farmers Market and a full immersion into the Mercantile, a local department store hosting hundreds of local makers from Bucks County.
Mercantile makes its focus on community connection and the experience of being in the same space as the artists and small business dreamers. They have accomplished that and much more. If you have yet to pay a visit, make it a day trip. There is a lot to see, and much to taste.
From the beginning of the construction to its opening took only 45 days. When meeting with interested artists Ashara Shapiro, an artist whose store at Mercantile is ARecerche, became the creative director.
This concept of a Wearable Art Show came to me in thinking of a way to showcase the variety of talent we have housed at Mercantile. I would like to thank the Mercantile Team and our volunteers for the many hours put in and efforts made to assist in this show.
An interview with Brooke Henningsen, Founder, and Ashara Shapiro, Creative Director. They discuss origins of Mercantile, vendors, classes, events, and more.
